Home selling tips: Getting your home ready

When it comes to home selling tips, getting your home move in ready is essential. Boosting the curb appeal is probably the most essential things that potential buyers look at. Look at it as “you can’t judge a book by its cover”. Therefore, when you put your home up for sale, you should start thinking like a buyer. Thinking like a buyer will help you turn your home into a move-in ready property that many buyers are seeking. It’s the difference between just looking and sold.

How to make your home move-in ready:

*A pre-listing party – When selling your home, it is a perfect time to invite your family and friends over and ask them what they would prefer in a home that yours does not have and what they see as a red flag. Asking the honest opinion of others can really help you get your home ready for selling. Just take what they say and run with it if it’s not too extreme.

*A Real Estate Professional – Once you get the opinion of trusted family and friends, you can seek the help of a real estate professional. They will help you with all the rest like what you can do to benefit your home and what you lack that hinders the sale.

*De-cluttering – Getting all the clutter from your home like extra furniture, knick knacks and more can help to sell your home fast. Your potential buyers need to see your home in its entirety. Therefore, remove all personal positions from the property before placing your home on the market. Put all those extras in storage until you’re ready to move into your new home.

*Garage – Just like you did the inside of your home, declutter the garage. It’s another important place that potential buyers look when they are seeking a home. If your garage is full of your stuff, it will turn off potential buyers and have them looking elsewhere.

*Go all natural – Keep colors of walls, siding, doors and more in a neutral color. Most buyers cannot see themselves in your home when there are crazy colors adorning it. Keep all colors on trend, but in a neutral state. Also, semi-glass or egg shell paint texture is very appealing most home buyers.

* Hardwoods – Make your hardwoods shine with a fresh coat of shine. It’s inexpensive and it will make your hardwoods look better than their natural state.
